Welcome to the 16'th Met&Props Conference

CONFERENCE FOCUS
Met & Props 2017 is focused on the progress in surface metrology, surface characterisation instrumentation and properties of engineering surfaces.

SUCESSFUL SERIES
This is the 16'th in the very successful series of conferences which firmly established surface topography as a new and exciting interdisciplinary field for  scientific and technological studies.

CONTIONOUSLY EXTENDING RESEARCH SCOPE
Recent advances in measurement techniques have extended the scope of roughness measurements to much smaller scales and many new results have been reported. On the other hand, the methodology and techniques of roughness measurement and characterisation have been extended to quite different fields of technological application like forensics, archaeology, biology and odontology with fascinating results.

ORGANIZERS
The 16'th Conference is organized by Halmstad University and takes place at the Clarion Hotel Post in central Göteborg, in Sweden.

INTERNATIONAL FORUM
The conference aims to provide an international forum for academics, industrialists and engineers from different disciplines to meet and exchange their ideas, results and latest research.

Additional Topical Session on Predictive Mainteneance and INDUSTRY4.0
To take advantage of people present at the conference and the upstart of current activities in the area of Maintenance and Digitalization -important areas for metrology of engineered surfaces, a special topical session is organized to introduce coming research topics and discuss ongoing research in China as well as in Sweden.
